An environmental education program in which 5th & 6th grade students from Sullivan West Elementary School: -Raised
trout from eggs to fry -Monitored
tank water quality -Learned to appreciate water resources - Began to foster a conservation ethic -Grew to
understand ecosystems.
The 2009-2010 school-year's program
ended on May 11th with "Trout Day" activities. The trout were released into the
North Branch of the Callicoon Creek. Our Chapter helped with the days activities by providing "stations"
for small groups of students: Fish carving - Fly casting - Fly
tying and Entymology of local insects.
